A middle school math teacher's quest to teach each lesson at least a little bit better than the lesson before.

I’m Alisan Royster, and I will be teaching 7th grade math for the first time for the 2013-2014 school year.  My previous experience has been teaching 4th-6th grade math, with the last four years in 6th grade.  My new position is in an International Baccalaureate school, and this new job takes me from teaching in a 1:1 laptop environment to a “3 desktop computers in the classroom” environment — although my new school is scheduled to issue some sort of mobile devices to our students in January 2014.  So I’m still looking for better ways to integrate technology into my teaching, but mostly I’m constantly trying to improve my teaching, whether that includes the use of technology or not.

I live and work in Mooresville, North Carolina.
